1.2.1 Add a mobile app on the Weixin Open Platform

Only verified developers can apply for WeChat Pay for mobile apps they created. Log in to the Weixin Open Platform, add a mobile app, and wait for approval.

1.2.2 Apply for WeChat Pay and submit relevant information

After the app is approved, you can go to Management Center > Mobile Apps to apply for WeChat Pay for this app.

(1) Enter information: Follow the instructions on the page to enter the app's basic information, information for company verification, and information for financial audit.

Follow the relevant instructions to enter the information required for each step. You can prepare it in advance to speed up the input and review process.

(2) Wait for approval: The Weixin team will issue a review result within 7 business days. The result will be sent to the Notification Center on the Open Platform and the provided Email.

Notification Center is on the upper right corner of the page after login.

After approval, the merchant will receive an email notification that contains the Merchant ID and login password. Be sure to note down the email provided during application.

1.2.3 Verify the settlement account and sign the online agreement

(1) Verify the account and sign the agreement:

WeChat Pay will make a random transfer to the settlement account submitted at the time of application for verification purposes. Log in to the Merchant Platform and enter the verification amount transferred. Then, sign the online agreement to enable the settlement feature.

2. Supported Categories and Billing Standards

After WeChat Pay is integrated to mobile apps, the merchant who uses WeChat Pay must pay a service fee to Weixin in accordance with the standards issued by Tencent. For rates and billing methods, see Business Scope.

3. FAQ on Integration

3.1 Why was my application rejected after I submitted the application information?

After receiving your application, the Weixin review team will notify you of the review result within 7 business days. If your application is rejected, you can log in to the Weixin Open Platform to check the reason for rejection. In this case, please update your application information accordingly and resubmit it for a second review.

3.2 Can an individual user apply for WeChat Pay for a self-developed mobile app?

No. WeChat Pay is only available to mobile apps of company entities.

3.3 Does Weixin issue an invoice or receipt for the payment service fee?

Yes.
