# Service Overview

Tenpay Global enables WeChat Mini ProgramMerchant to seamlessly integrate with global mainstream payment methods, facilitating convenient payments for consumers from various countries within Mini Program scenarios. Currently, the Tenpay Global service is available in Singapore and Macau, China. For a list of supported payment methods, please refer to Payment Methods. More countries/regions will be added soon, so stay tuned.

# Availability

# For Consumers

Consumers who wish to use Tenpay Global for payment must meet the following criteria:

WeChat Registration Number: The consumer must be a WeChat user registered with a non-mainland Chinese phone number. Users registered with mainland Chinese phone numbers are not eligible at this time.
WeChat Client Version: The WeChat client version must be 8.0.54 or later, with a base library version of 3.6.6 or higher. If the base library version is lower, the checkout page cannot be displayed. Developers should check the user’s version and advise them to use WeChat Pay via the wx.requestPayment interface or update their WeChat client via wx.updateWeChatApp before attempting payment.

# For Merchant

Merchant entities wishing to use Tenpay Global must meet the following conditions:

Location of Merchant Entity: Currently, only Merchant entities registered in Singapore or Macau, China are eligible. More countries/regions will be added soon. Please stay informed.

Note: If the Mini Program-authorized entity is not from the above regions but has a subsidiary in one of these areas, they can apply for Tenpay Global access by contacting the Tenpay Global team at tenpayglobal_cko@tencent.com or the Mini Program team at miniprogram_global@tencent.com.

These are the minimum requirements for using this service. After applying, Tenpay Global will review the provided information and business details. Approval is subject to the review results. Entities that do not meet the requirements will not be granted access to this service.

# FAQ

Q: Does integrating Tenpay Global require changing the existing WeChat Pay setup?
A: Tenpay Global provides access to overseas payment methods for WeChat Mini ProgramMerchant, enabling local payments for consumers in various countries within WeChat Mini Program scenarios. Tenpay Global and WeChat Pay operate independently with separate account setup processes and funding channels. Therefore, entities already using WeChat Pay can continue using their current system while completing the KYC process with Tenpay Global and handling settlements separately. For API calls, using the WeChat Pay interface will continue to enable separate payments via WeChat Pay, while using the Tenpay Global interface will aggregate WeChat Pay and other overseas payment methods on the client side (for base library versions 3.6.6 and above). Q: Is Tenpay Global only available in Singapore and Macau, China? Which regions will be added in the future?
A: Tenpay Global is currently available in Singapore and Macau, China. Preparation is underway for expansion to regions like Japan. We will continue to add more regions. Stay tuned. If you have specific requests for other regions, please contact us via email.
